Education and Study

Christian Education is a lifelong process. We provide opportunities for all ages during the academic year. In addition to the weekly activities found below, we have special events, such as Church Family Camp and Vacation Bible School.

Nursery

Our nursery is staffed to provide a safe and caring environment for our youngest during the education hour, the 11:00 am worship service, and during special events.

Preschool (Ages 3–5)

A team of caring teachers work with these young students using the Bible Discovery Curriculum.

Elementary (Grades K–5)

Each age group rotates to a different workshop each week. They focus on Bible stories that illustrate important lessons for young minds. Multimedia/computers aid in learning the stories; creative drama and storytelling help to bring the stories to life; art projects in various media reinforce the stories, skills and games teach and reinforce knowledge.

Middle School (Grades 6–8)

Relevant life discussions, mission projects and hanging out together creates an atmosphere for young people to learn to apply Christian principles in their lives. Live B.I.G. (Live your Belief In God) is the curriculum used.

Some of our past projects have included car wash and can/bottle collection fundraisers for tsunami and Katrina relief efforts, food item collection for local foodbanks, senior citizens leaves were raked in the fall and they enjoyed fresh baked cookies and caroling at Christmas time, and a free trade chocolate bar fund raiser was held prior to Valentines Day.

Confirmation (Grade 9)

Confirmation instruction provides youth with a foundational understanding of our faith, tradition, and Presbyterian practices. Each student is invited to explore the meaning of their own baptism and participation at the Lord’s Table which leads to the creation of their personal faith statement.

High School (Grades 9–12)

Participating in activities and monthly discussion forums transition this age group into active participants of the congregation.

Adult Education

As lifelong learners in matters of faith, many and varied opportunities for study and enrichment are available to adults. Sunday mornings offerings may include current events as they relate to Christians, Bible study, sermon discussions, parenting, and Book Club. Check out the link of current offerings for the complete schedule.
