Annual Congregational Meeting

The annual congregational meeting of the Presbyterian Church of Okemos has been scheduled on Zoom for Sunday, February 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. The meeting will take the place of coffee hour but will have the same Zoom number. Attendees will be voting on candidates for Elders, Deacons, and the Endowment and Nominating committees, and on adoption of Church bylaws. Officer Training for Deacons and Elders

Officer training has been scheduled for current PCO Deacons and Elders and those whose names are being put forth at the congregational meeting on February 7, 2021. The trainings will take place on Zoom on Saturday, January 9 and Saturday, January 16 from 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. While the sessions will be recorded for those who cannot attend, deacons and elders are asked to prioritize this time if at all possible to benefit from live discussion and teaching. Online Worship to Continue through March 31

On December 12, 2020, the Presbytery of Lake Michigan recommended that no in-person worship be held indoors at its member churches before March 31, 2021. As a member of the Presbytery, the Presbyterian Church of Okemos' PCO COVID Task Force adopted this recommendation for our congregation on December 27, 2020. Current signage at the PCO office entrance states who is allowed to use the building for church work and the safe practices that are to be followed. Interfaith Food Distribution Benefits Many

Volunteers from PCO's Mission Committee were among those helping to distribute food to about 900 area families on Saturday, October 31. The food distribution was sponsored by the Michigan Muslim Community Council (MMCC) and the Interfaith Clergy Association of Greater Lansing (ICAGL). Stewardship of Creation and Climate Change

PCO member Ewen Todd was recently a speaker and presenter at the International Association for Food Protection's (IAFP) Annual Meeting.
