Interfaith Food Distribution Benefits Many

Volunteers from PCO’s Mission Committee were among those helping to distribute food to about 900 area families on Saturday, October 31. The food distribution was sponsored by the Michigan Muslim Community Council (MMCC) and the Interfaith Clergy Association of Greater Lansing (ICAGL). PCO is a member of the ICAGL and was a cosponsor of the event. The drive-through happening was held at the Islamic Center of East Lansing at 920 South Harrison Road. Recipients received, free of charge, dairy products including milk, cheese, butter, and liquid egg whites, and produce including apples and potatoes.

Volunteers loaded food into the trunks of recipients’ cars, keeping the event contact-free.

Volunteers joined together from PCO, the Islamic Center of East Lansing,  and other members of the Interfaith Clergy Association of Greater Lansing.

Above is just some of the food distributed, free of charge, to about 900 households in need in the Greater Lansing area.
